The Holy Spirit is inside of you right now, not somewhere off in the distance. He's as close as your breath. I wonder how different our lives would be if we really understood the importance of that?

Three Thoughts

The same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you. Really think about that for a moment. The resurrection power of God is in your body right now. That's a major deal.

ROMANS 8:11

Your body is a Temple of the Holy Spirit. The Temple used to be the one place in the world where God's space overlapped our space, but that isn't the case anymore. Now He is present wherever we go, because he resides inside of us.

1 CORINTHIANS 3:16

Jesus promised that the Spirit of truth would be with his followers at all times. So that means you're never alone in your decisions or your struggles or tough moments. He lives in you, he guides you, he convicts you, he comforts you, you just have to learn to listen.

JOHN 14:17

Two Quotes

Evangelist D.L. Moody on the Holy Spirit:

"I believe firmly that the moment our hearts are emptied of pride and selfishness, the Holy Spirit will fill every corner of our hearts."

Preacher Charles Spurgeon on spiritual growth:

"Every growth of spiritual life, from the first tender shoot until now, has been the work of the Holy Spirit."

Prayer

Holy Spirit, I don't want to just know about you anymore, I want to actually know you. You live in me and sometimes I forget you're even there. So I ask that you would open my eyes today to your presence. Help me to hear your voice and to follow your lead. Fill me up. In Jesus name, amen.

Question

If the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, why are you still trying to do everything in your own strength?

See you next Thursday,
Zach
